DEXTER: Mill Creek students form bond with therapy dog
Parents bringing their children to Mill Creek Middle School last week for student pictures, registration and orientation got a chance to meet Dexter, the black labrador retriever assigned as a therapy dog for the district.

Record on the Road: Alaska
Barbara Knichel and I are in Juneau, Alaska, at a sled-dog and musher's camp. There was no snow on the trail in June, so the sled was a VW chassis pulled by the dogs with a musher giving the commands. At the end of the ride, we were allowed to hold the puppies that were being raised by the musher to be future dog-sledders. It was a wonderful trip.
